POLICY PLANNING AND MONITORING
The office of the Policy & Planning deals with the policies of the organization and all planning services for the Eastern Highlands PHA. This office is also ensuring to implementing policies from the National Government and drafting of the PHA Operational Policies for EH Provincial Health Authorities benefits.
The first five (5) most important policies for the EH PHA in draft for the Boards approval are;
- Housing Policy
- Transport and Fleet management
- Asset management Policy
- Human Resource policy
- Finance & management Policy
EH PHA Health Services Planning.
The PHA Corporate Plan 2018 - 2022
The EH Provincial Health Authority corporate plan is the major Plan for the PHA and set out the organization Vision, Mission with the broad goals, objectives and the strategies. The plan is done and available however the new management has revised the current Corporate Plan for completion and launching in 2018.
The Health sector has the National Health Plan 2011 – 2020 and from these the Provincial Health services Plan or Annual Implementation plan is formulated for implementation in a year. For every year Annual Implementation Plan is provided for all programs and implemented throughout the health facilities.
Annual Implementation Plan for 2017 has been completed by the planning office and distributed throughout all sections and districts for implemented.
The Health Services five (5) year strategic Health Plan.
This is a five year Health services strategic plan for the entire PHA. The Plan is being complied by an expert consultant from ADB for the Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority. All consultation had been completed and input has been done. The plan is being finalized for launching with the corporate Plan in 2018.
Performance Review.
The performance review of the Annual Activity plan is done on the following bases.
- Constant review conducted on the AIP
- There has been Constant meeting and briefing with the DHO’S and other partners
- The Compilation of Monthly report of performance from the facility to health information system.
- Supervisory visits to the facility and discussion on achievement and constraints and finding possible solutions for way forward is done by the respective supervisors.

Public Private Partnership.
Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority has encouraged the PPP arrangement and has conducted two meetings already with the NGOS’S and Civil societies. The biggest partner is the Christian Health Services or Churches Medical Council.
