The Board
The Provincial Health Authority board is the Governance board and has powers to be responsible for all health matters within the province and is responsible to perform the following duties;
- Enter into contracts.
- Consultation with the Department of health.
- Recommend for fees and charges payable for the provision of health services.
- Raise funds and resources.
- Make grants to health service providers and accept gifts from donors and partners.
Board Composition
- Department of Health Representative - Appointed by the Secretary of Health.
- Deputy PA District and Local Level Government (LLG) - Appointed by the Provincial Administrator.
- Three members of the local business - Appointed by Chamber of Commerce.
- Church Representative - Appointed by the local Christian Health Services.
- A Women Representative - Nominated by the local Provincial Council of Women.
- Two (2) Community Representative - Nominated by the panel, CEO, PA and Community Leaders.

- Scheduled Board Meetings:
The Board’s scheduled meetings as per the EH PHA year planner. - Extra Ordinary Meeting:
The board extra ordinary meetings have been conducted to approve urgent matters brought upon and as per the advice of the Chief Executive Officer from the management. - Board decisions:
The board decision and resolution are implemented by the office of the Chief Executive Officer and the management
Boards Term of Office
The board as per the PHA Act has a term of office for three (3) years. The active period is from the date of the gazettal to the next expiry date in the third (3) year.
