Curative Health Services Directorate

The core business of this directorate is PATIENT CARE. Patient Care encompasses all aspects of clinical interventions provided to a sick person who seeks medical assistance in a health facility. It starts from the point whereby the sick person sees a clinician who takes prudent history of the patient’s complains (illness), physically examines the patient thus establishing a provisional clinical diagnosis followed by doing relevant supportive investigations henceforth institution of medical or surgical treatment.

Under the PHA Act 2007, the directorate of curative health is also responsible for the provincial hospital, district hospitals and its peripheral health facilities as well as the urban clinics.
